Mrs5150 and I spent the night at a popular tourist wine town about an hour from where we live. One that is visited often by city folk. This couple-early 30s sits at the table next to us and we notice the woman has her wallet and phone next to her (placing the wallet on the table?-slightly unusual. Did she leave her purse in the car? Maybe purses are out?)
But the guy set his wallet, car keys and phone on the table, also. Seemed a bit odd to me as I had my keys, wallet and phone in my pockets. I figured it must be due to wearing skinny jeans (could not tell) or it was some kind of urban fashionable thing. Anyway, never noticed such a thing before and all of the men in their 20s and 30s in my area keep said items in their pockets while dining-except for the phone.
Is this a new trend? Will I need to place my car keys and wallet on the table while dining in order to appear trendy? (And no I will not fit into skinny jeans.)
You are reading way too much into the actions of one couple...
Good to know. Mrs5150 suggested I was just not in touch how younger urbanites do things fashion wise. Even tho I am in my mid 60s, feel that I am aware of such matters.
I just thought it odd that a male would place his car keys and wallet on the restaurant table.
I don't carry a purse (yes, I am a woman). I might put my phone on the table along with my keys. Dh might put his phone (and wallet?) on the table as well. Easier to keep track of them there.
Is this a fashion thing? Who cares? I don't give a flying crap about what is fashion or "in".
Maybe his pants did not have pockets...or did not have secure pockets. Perhaps things fall out easily. Or perhaps he was wearing a size too small and it was too uncomfortable to have keys and wallet in pockets.
I'm a female and I never take a purse. Everything in my pockets for me. Key fob, credit card and license, and phone.
Please state the name of the restaurant so none of us wastes time and money going there if the meal was so unmemorable to provoke this posting.
