If you really want to, do it. But don't do it yourself!

I've considered one for years and may do it yet. The thing about nose piercings is that, once the rawness heals, the "hole" itself is barely noticeable. So if you decide later that you don't like it, you won't have scarring. Unlike those who punch in those ugly-butt big button earrings in their lobes to stretch them out (now those are fugly!).

Got my nose and navel pierced back in the 1990s. I did it because I wanted to do it for a very long time. I'm 48 now, and, while I don't wear it every day, I wear a tiny nose pin when I feel like it, or when not inappropriate (ex: I wouldn't wear one to a job interview).

One of the keys to not regretting it later is to think hard about it, and wait. Don't do it on a whim. And don't do it if you've been drinking. Do it once you've thought about doing it for a while.

Fifteen or more years later and I still don't regret it.

I agree. When I considered getting my nose pierced, it was more on a whim. I'm glad I didn't do it because I didn't think it would look good on me. Now, my bellybutton piercing...I mulled that one over for several months and I absolutely love it.

It's way easier to get rid of when compared to a tattoo. I've had my nose and tongue pierced years ago and both piercings are long gone. My tattoos are still with me.

Definitely research to find a reputable piercer. Also, buy a flesh colored plug to have ready to stick in the piercing to hide it. Employers can say sure you can have a piercing one day and then the next day say I'm sorry, you're piercing has to come out. That's when the plug comes in handy.

Two rings in my left nostril.

Despite the ignorance based claims that people only get piercings to attract attention, I rarely think about them.

I had my nose and belly pierced quite a few years ago. I'm glad I did it, and you can't tell that I had my nose pierced. Once I took the ring out it healed over nicely.
My advice would be to make sure you go to a clean and reputable business. One that does tattoos and piercings. Buy lots of bactine and clean the pierced area twice a day.
