I'm a little under 5'4", probably 5' 3.5" or thereabouts. I'm a female. I'm happy with my height since I like shorter guys (not over 5'10"). Never felt I was too short--except for when I'm trying to reach things on the top shelves, but those situations are never like constant; I think I pretty much fall into the average range. So my height works good for me!
Wow--lots of 6' or taller here! I wish the poll would be split into male/female. I want to say that selection would be mostly made up of males. Would have liked to have seen that. Still think I'm pretty much average for a female. And ha!--took another look and that next highest number on the poll is that 5'4"!

Yes, it's a very articulate phrase from my teen years. But I was always turned off by guys who were tall and had to duck under things, and always seemed either awkward (AKA "doofy") or tall guys who were way too proud of their tall stature. Flash back to high school hallways: all the guys whose heads could be seen above the crowd were either 1.) athletes who thought they were great or 2.) big dorks.
In adulthood we don't have such types anymore, but my bias has stuck with me.
Wow! Another girl who prefers "shorter" men! Awesome!! I just do not like ever run into anyone else who has this preference. Yeah, I don't know why but the ones 6' and taller are just a turnoff to me! And maybe it does have something to do with the unfair perception (since it's not like we had really anything to do much with our height, although there may be a few odd ones here and there who could have tweaked that bit like I read in the first few posts) that taller men think that they like are such a catch for the ladies because of their height; while I do go for self-confidence, that particular angle just really turns me off.
In adulthood it seems I've kept my "types"--my husband fit them all exactly; he was my "perfect" type. And it appears it helped make for the exceptional marriage that we had.

Judging by the poll results, men also lie about their height.
