Macy's is a true department store with various levels of quality. JCP is pretty low to middle, more like Kohl's.

The lowest of the low would be, IMO, Walmart and Kmart.

Everything else is better. But I don't think too much of the clothing at Target, Kohl's, J.C. Penney, or Sears. I do like the Lands End things. I walk into the Lands End department at my local Sears, and never go any other place in the store.

My favorite department store is Dillards. Alas, there is no Dillards here in the PNW. So I am learning to tolerate Macy's. I bought some things there today.

def i think macy's is high end and jcp middle; shoot, you can go in macys to certain departments and walk out with a 4,000 purse or shoes if you want, and then you can go back when they have some off the hook sales and get good stuff. lord and taylor, nordies, saks, etc are way too pricy for me. why pay all that money when you don't have to?
