What is the protocol for that? I pay $20 for a men's cut and tip $5 normally.

Have been going to the same person for the last year, do you tip extra for Christmas and how much?

Thanks.

I gave them a box of specialty cookies on Sunday. They were wowed.

I decided to just double the tip. I'm amazed 25 people opened this thread and only person comments.

It was a pretty straight forward question.

I would tip them with something homemade and extra money. It shows them how much I value them as an individual (since we normally chat it up) as well as value their work.

I was having about 50 cookie boxes in my car to hand out to friends and such. This is the first year I'm starting my own Christmas tradition which I was used to growing up.

And I ended up stopping for a haircut coz they were getting out of control.

It's a tragic event, folks. Samson's hair has been cut WAY TOO SHORT.

I look funny at the moment. Like a different person.

I was told by my mom that you should tip the equivalent of 1 haircut. In my case, that's $45 (I'm a guy but it's a salon). If your hair is done by the proprietor you're supposed to give a gift of equivalent amount or thereabouts, not cash.

No....I give her the same tip as always. No one tips me for doing my job.
I'm more than positive that she and everyone else with their hands out this time of year makes more than I do.

I just try not to schedule an appointment around the holidays, so I don't have to tip extra. I usually give 15% to 20% for a tip for a standard haircut.
