I'll have to disagree with you there, Antlers. I think Banker's collar shirts can look really sharp in certain situations. They are certainly not an all occasions look, however.

It can pass when the majority of the "chrome" on the shirt is uniform, like it's white here:
T/f 100's Raised Twill Stripe White Traditional Straight Collar, White French Cu from Paul Fredrick

But I wore a blue shirt with a white collar and cuff like the other one a few times, and the collars stood out and were distracting. Didn't like it. Needless to say, I hardly wear such pattern differentials

Nonetheless it's a very popular outfit in my line of work, especially at the top.

My mother just told me she is planning to buy me some clothes for my upcoming b'day. She sent a few links from brooks brothers and I am in love with this one, love at first sight

Let's take look at the stripes in the shirt and the circles in the tie and how the pink aligns with the reddish nucleus in each circle.

All-Cotton Regular Fit End-on-End Track Stripe French Cuff Dress Shirt | Brooks Brothers (http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id= 306&Product_Id=1530686&Parent_Id=305&default_color =PINK&sort_by=&sectioncolor=&sectionsize=14-1/2%2033 - broken link)

Sorry. Looks like a television test pattern from the 50's IMEverHO.

(If you meet a Boomer on the street he/she's likely to break out in "The Star Spangled Banner". Not sure you'll get this Chamy. You may have to just trust me. )

Really? You don't like that one

I was thinking it would fit in nicely with one of these two kind of suits, I have both colours. Let me think about this.

Milano Plaid 1818 Suit | Brooks Brothers

Tommy Hilfiger Suit Separates, Tan Sharkskin Slim Fit - Suits & Suit Separates - Men's - Macy's

Like the tie, like the shirt, don't like the super spread collar. Any other collar options available for that one, Antlers?

Chamy, LOVE the Brooks Brothers. Not too crazy about the color of the Tommy H.

Do you have any sharkskin suits? My dad had one in black in the early 60's that could be on Mad Men today. It was one sharp looking suit. Very "shimmery" in certain lights.

BTW: If you're ever in the collage of photos that's in the Style (?) section of the NYTimes on Sundays, let us know!

I think that's a hard shirt to pull off since French cuffs are reserved for very formal business wear with suits, while the color on that BB is very festive & somewhat flippant. Also with a spread collars like that you need to match it with the right size of lapels & gorge on the jacket so you don't wind up with huge collar gap.
