I like these kinds of boots: http://chic.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pCHIC1-9821763enh-z6.jpg (broken link)

i only wear round/natural toed shoes, don't like big clunky heels, HATE slouchy ankles, and i strongly prefer soft rubber soles for comfort and traction.

for riding and working at the barn, especially good for trudging through mud and snow:

for daily wear, low heel:

for daily wear, high heel:

i have these, but i wore them to death, need to get new soles put on, stitching fixed, and zippers replaced [i'm hoping i can get the zippers replaced with a strip of leather instead of just getting new zippers, because i hate zippers on soft leather boots, they pucker and warp and just look tacky]:

in a perfect world, i'd have enough money to buy lots of boots from fluevog and eject.

I'm not much of a boot person but I'm not discriminating in how I feel about how all styles of boots look on other people.

I fit in with the functional, for a purpose crowd. Being a blue color worker, most of my boots are work related, I have had western dress boots in the past but today its comfort and functional.

I have mostly Stuart Weitzman because he's one of the few brands making decent dress boots in my size.

My favs:
Highline (over the knee)

Vital (knee high)

Combat (over the knee, but I have them in brown)

I love dress boots.

I like them all, but very few women can pull them off. They have to be your size!

I just bought two pairs of boots and they're quite different.

One's an Aerosoul's brand, kinda' Westerny style, and I was able to zip it up my big leg. (I actually wanted a dressier pair for work but nothing I picked out would zip up my leg.) I can still wear it with dresses, although a slightly higher heel would have been nice.

The other pair are Lands End, furry-lined and warm, with good traction for walking in snow. I won't wear these much but will be glad to have them when they're needed.
