I used to offer my view point on tattoos on both women (trailer trash) and men (young fools) but I've come to the conclusion that people who get them are not mature enough to see the damage to their bodies they do so I don't offer an opinion anymore.
Is it just me, or does it look like tattoos are disappearing from the streets, as though most of the people who had them have been getting them lasered off in the past couple of years?
I could swear that I used to see a lot more women with those ankle tattoos, or the "tramp stamps"... not so much lately.

Must comment, my husband had his tatts 50 years ago, hard to know what they are now as they have melted into one blue blob. For older women it would look even worse. Good idea to have them taken off before that happens better still don't get them at all.

I'm an anti-tat guy here. I think they're just pointless. But in the interest of education only...

That's why you see many older gentleman with blobs of greenish ink on them.
Currently, however, the quality of ink is much better, the machines used are more technologically advanced and well suited for the tattoo process and we also know much more about how damaging the suns rays can be and how to avoid damage in that respect.
My lower forearm tattoo is nearly 7 years old and I've had professional artists think it was only a few months old. I exfoliate, use aquaphor and other skin conditioners regularly and stay out of the sun as much as possible. I know peoe with extremely colorful 10+ year old tattoos that are very vibrant because they went to a good artist and take care of their skin.
