It's that way in India too. Light skinned Indian women are considered more desireable than dark skinned.

SO...I was being a little sarcastic telling you that you must not be rich enough or your woman would be white or light skinned.

Gotcha. That's sort of what I thought but wasn't sure.

Yea, it's like that everywhere. Dark skinned black women often complain about this but dark skinned Indian women go through the same exact thing, here in the U.S. and in India. having had a dark skinned Indian friend I know this first hand from her.

Where I live, I almost do a double take if I see a non-interracial couple. If I look at my classmates, the only ones dating/married to black women are the ones from the east coast. African-American men from CA seem to skip black women (as a general stereotype).

This is also true in South East Asia and Korea as well. Unfortunately colorism knows no boundaries.

I probably get the most compliments on my skin tone from Europeans.

It would make me very happy to see more women like Reshma Shetty, Tika Sumpter and Rutina Wesley on more magazine covers.

Don't understand that. Yes, I am from the East Coast but also lived in LA for a little while. I enjoyed dating all kinds of women, but hooked up with AA, Latina and Samoans mostly.
