I am over 35, and have tatts in various place, i still like them, they still look good.
Since i have them, i knew my sons would want them as well.

i just told them that they have to wait until they stop growing so the tattoo would not have a stretched look, that also bought more time for them to think about them. I had to really instill in them that you just cant erase it when you feel like it and the lazer tech to remove hurts three times as much as the regular tatt, plus you need several treatments to get them lighter and lighter, your skin never really looks brand new anyway.

all three of my sosn have them on their arms and one has on his back. i think they are done now.

I always laugh when I see a man in his 30's - 40's walking around (for example) with a tattoo of a fighting leprechaun or something. I believe that tattoos are for insecure attention whores that need attention. Plenty of things go thru my mind. I never once contemplated putting a silly quote or meaningless picture on my body. For what?

40% of young people got tattoos.
tattoos and facebook are alike. both spur of the moment, fun kinda sexy, very cool, but are permanent.
tend to see concentrations of employees where companies hire the tattooed. at starbucks it looks like a bandaid salesmen has been in town. at trader joe's looks like a circus convention for side show artists.

My favorites are the places that don't allow visible tattoos. That explains the guy wearing long sleeves or an elastic sweatband even when its 90 degrees. LOL

The things I have tattooed on my body actually have meaning...and I am neither insecure or an attention-*****. I'm a 6'1 tall red headed woman with huge boobs... I definitely don't need tattoos to draw attention

I got them because I like using my body as a canvas. They tell my life story and make me happy, they don't hurt anyone and they aren't vulgar so I suppose I just don't understand the malice some people have against people with tattoos. What did we ever do to you?

What's involved in removing them? Who does it? How much?

I don't have any and would NEVER consider it.

Please help me understand why someone would do it when a "lifestyle" change or "change of heart" will then have them seek to have it/them removed.

I can see, maybe, if it's in a hidden spot, above the trunk line or on the back of the shoulder, but one of the stupidest locations is smack in the middle of a calf.

This is not the first time I've seen you make this claim.

And no, they are nothing alike, at all.

All the tatt haters here need to get a new hobby cause you're not foolin anybody. Society does not look down on people with tattoos the way you all claim to, FYI: you guys are actually the minority here. The negative opinions of this topic are no reflection of the real world.
