When clothing or other items "go out of style" (but not worn-out/damaged in any way) do you usually toss or save/keep?
Just wondering.
Style obsolescence is one way that it seems limits the lifespan/usable life of clothing items.
Do you usually toss it out or save it (perhaps because it's still good or maybe even that it'll become popular or in style once again) when it's "over"?

I don't buy overly trendy stuff because it goes out of style before it gets worn out. Simple as that.
Everything I buy I keep and wear until it is at end of life for whatever reason.. stain, tear, threadworn, etc..

My clothes do not go out of style. The same classic style, high quality fabrics, fitted cut, and classic colours that looked classy before I was born still look classy today. The high quality fabrics do not wear out ever, and I either send them to the cleaner or wash them by hand. I did give away my clothing and handbags when circumstances required (moving from one continent to another, a donee's admiration of the item, etc.) but I never toss them or send them to thrift shops, they all are in too high quality not to be appreciated by someone I know.

How about another option.... donate them!
That's what i do when I tire of something, or when I find something I like better.

I am with the others, I stick to classic styles and good quality. So if I decide I no longer want a perfectly good item, I donate it. I donated a huge amount after a significant weight loss.
When it gets worn or permanently stained, I donate them.

I buy trendy stuff for my kids, who are growing anyhow, so their clothes are not intended to last for years. When they outgrow stuff, we hand it down to one of our friends who has a kid the right size, or we give it away to a needy family on Craigslist.
For myself, I might buy one trendy item a season, and work it into the wardrobe I already have. When it's no longer something I want to wear, I generally repurpose the fabric and make a pillow, or doll clothes, or a dog coat.

My wardrobe is very traditional/classic. If it is stained or worn I throw it out. If it is nice but didn't work for me I donate it.It doesn't really go in or out of style.

It's not an issue when you buy tailored clothing in classic styles.

I buy some trendy items and some classic items. But I don't necessarily follow trends closely. If it fits with my general style, I'll keep it until it dies and wear it even when it is "out."
For example, I got an on trend animal print skirt for fall. This a trend at the moment, and will go out soon, but I'll still be wearing this skirt (if it fits) because the shape/cut fits my style.
I have got other things and over time they didn't fit my style anymore so I donated them for someone else to enjoy.
