If they shake off their social conditioning women can certainly appreciate ALL of a man's body. It's also up to the man to take care of himself and project himself as being 'sexy.'

That's a guy who only works his upper body. I've seen many over the years who do that. I always get my leg work in. They don't have to be as shimmery if they are covered in hair either. Too much can be too much. Who wan't big thighs that rub together like a tubbo and has to wear fatass Docker paints.
I prefer leaner men, I actually don't like the bulky look men get from working out their upper body a lot. But really what makes a man attractive to me is facial features/hair more than what's going on with his body as long as he's within a normal weight range.
Many, many men that are considered very attractive by many, many women are not bulky. If you want a list I'll rattle off quite a few.
Like another thread, it seems women focus on men's upper body (torso).
I think the reason why different body parts are emphasized in the genders is related to how attraction works in each gender plus social programming.
In a woman, the breasts and hips, and the lips...
In men the signs of strength I suppose like the pecs and arms.
One thing that doesn't make sense is how women seem to have a monopoly on legs being a sexy body part. Nothing innate about that.
The buttocks seem more a female sign - although some women appreciate a nice behind on a man.
What's worse is a husky or chunky guy down below his waist. Up top, he has narrow shoulders and no muscle definition. That just flat out looks bad. Even coming from a man's perspective. Said guy often has man boobs as well. Big ones...one that could even need a bra if he could stomach the embarassment. Heavy butterfly arm presses...lots of bench presses would even his chest out. Reps and sets.....and more....and more!! Get rid of that look guys. I wouldn't think it would be pleasant for a woman to see it.
All I know is, I have always worked hard to stay in shape. Not just for looks, but primarily for healthy life and enjoying being athletic/sporty. Any woman to have ever had a chance with me, had to be as fit or if not athletic/fit, have a naturally sexy/curvy body like Kim K., Vida Guerra or Sophia Vergarra. No double standard here.

I was forced to stay in shape. I didn't have any choice in the matter. If you can't do the job because you are huffing and puffing, out of breath, or not strong enough....they would "relieve" you for your failure.
A 'hot' woman is one who is basically just of average proportions with at least decent sized breasts. By 'average' I don't mean average TODAY, but average as in how humans are SUPPOSED to be. I was thinking about this. Since the average 40 something year old woman is a bit overweight, and a lot of 20 somethings are in slightly better shape, a woman who just watches what she eats can be considered 'hot' just for being a woman. There's such an emphasis of youth equally beauty, that one has to work hard to maintain that youthful shape as they age, especially after childbirth.
Whereas a man has to have a sculpted body to be considered sexy. At least generally. All 'sexy' pics of men are generally just topless showing his muscles. While 'sexy' photos of women can depict slightly skinny to curvaceous women, usually with decent sized breasts, but even small breasts can be overlooked for other things, like having long limbs, which isn't controllable anyway.
I think slim men - not skinny (not attractive in either gender) with some tone can be just as attractive looking. I'm not gay so I can't speak from that angle, but from an aesthetic point of view while a sculpted male body is indeed a work of art, I think the ideal of male physical beauty is a bit narrower than that of a woman.
I've seen women who were said to have 'hot bodies' who just looked average to me. It's like, most men will take a fairly 'regular' looking girl who isn't overweight or anorexic, while there's this idea that a man has to work out to get girls.
In porn you often see chunky, muscly men with average sized women with big breasts.
Those "standards "are changing though. A whole lot of people think that singer Adele is considered aesthetically beautiful, and she's obese.
I think men atually have a broader range for physical attractiveness-western society is accepting of them being middle aged and beyond (as opposed to women, who are only considered appealing when under the age of 25). Men are expected to carry their "aging" more naturally as well (graying, wrinkles), while women are expected to start botox at 30.
"Sexy" is not just how one looks, how large one's breasts are or how long the legs. It's the energy one excudes, the confidence, the way they carry themselves. The 'whole package'.
