I am a man and I dont wear jewelry of any kind outside of a watch on occasion.

I really dislike the feeling of not being able to get a ring off my finger. Have had that happen before. Grinding it over the finger joint skeeves me out. I also have heard story's of the bone shaping around the band and stuff too. Also circulation

Feel like it would be distracting and uncomfortable to wear a ring constantly.

Do you mind?

if a ring gets stuck on your finger or affects the circulation at all, it's too small.

Wear the proper size and you won't have any of the problems mentioned.

For me, I rarely notice it being there. Sometimes though, even with proper sizing, changes in temperature make it too loose (when it's cold out)which is annoying, or too tight in the heat, which is indeed uncomfortable. Also, if soap or certain skincare products get trapped underneath, if I don't rinse my hands enough, the skin gets irratated.
I guess if you feel the need to simulate a ring, you could get a ring tattoo.

It used to be uncomfortable when I first started wearing one (when I got married). I used to find it distracting and I couldn't stop playing around with it. After one year, I don't even feel it anymore and I never even notice its there.

You just get used to it, sort of like braces I guess.

Both my wedding ring and signet ring are just "snug" enough where it's tight, but can be pulled off without any discomfort. I also take both off when I get home so my skin doesn't dry up. Other than that, no.

If it getting stuck really worries you can get the ring a little large and get a ring guard. The guard is just a thin band of metal that has a little bit of give to it. I wore one for years because my fingers tend to shrink and swell with the changes in temps.

I have two rings I've worn since I was about 18 years old (I'm 35), now. If I take them off for any length of time, like to be cleaned, etc., and forget to put them back on, it feels weird WITHOUT them.

I refuse to ever wear a ring, in protest for the banding of ducks.

My husband has RA (rheumatoid arthritis) in his fingers and his wedding ring came off years ago. He has a great silver octopus ring he wears and even that might need to be sized up, soon....

And I wear my ring loose according to jewelers. Right now I'm at a 7, and if I get sized they want me in a 6.5.... too tight for me...

But as far as my husband not wearing his wedding ring -- it's a ring. It's a symbol of our committment, but it's just a symbol. The fact he brings me a cup of coffee every morning right after I'm done eating my breakfast, with just the right amount of milk in it means way more than a piece of gold.
