I tried them on on a whim and ended up liking them much more than I expected. I don't often wear much pattern so I'm not sure what the best pairings would be right here. Suggestions on how to look cute but not cutesy in these?

I'd either go basic with a neutral tee shirt or blouse (depending on how dressy you wanna be). Or try some color blocking: maybe a pale yellow or pink top and a electric blue cardigan.

I am guessing these are red? You could wear quite a few colors with this, the only ones I would skip are true green, forest green, true blue, orange and fuschia.

Pastels would probably look really good.

Shoes: wedges or flat sandals or ballet flats

And search for printed shorts to get more ideas:

I second that...a neutral tee shirt (for women...not a "Fruit of the Loom" thing!) Ann Taylor has some cute tees.... I'd wear sandals/wedges....with them.

I would honestly go with a black t-shirt. Perhaps a design on it.

A neutral colored t-shirt or tank top.
Longer necklace(s).
Tan or skin colored flats.

Another image, if the colors weren't clear.

I'd probably go with a white fitted t-shirt.

I get chilly easily and rarely go anywhere without a cardigan or jacket just in case. So what goes on top of these neutral tops everyone has suggested?
