When I shave my face I get red bumps on my neck and I haven't figured out how to prevent them. I've tried different razors and different shaving creams but still get them. Any ideas?

Do you put lotion on your face after shaving? I do and it prevents the bumps. Also, certain kinds of scented aftershaves get my face irritated.

Try a pre-shave oil to prep the skin. I have also recently read about using a one-blade razor (not really sure what that is) to prevent bumps.

Be sure to clean your razor after shaving by pouring some rubbing alcohol on it, as well. That will help prevent bumps the next time you shave.

It puts the lotion on its skin.

Sorry, couldn't resist!

What kind of lotion do you use?

Does this happen as well if you use an electric razor?
