I see a new movement in May for "no make up" work and school days. What do you all think about this exercise? Do you think it's useful and a good idea, or a waist of time that won't really change anything.
Just curious, saw a news show today about some school girls in my state giving this a shot. Very interesting. No make up, straightening or curling hair, no shaving, nadda, nothing. Totally natural.

A "no makeup day" is the typical day of a mid western woman isnt it?
This is something that will NEVER catch on. NEVER. Women want to look good. Men want women to look good. Women are not going to want to go for such ridiculousness. Well, maybe the unattractive women who are jealous of the attractive women maybe, but I dont ever EVER see this as something that will catch on, except for maybe the patchouli new age sorceress type women, but they already live their daily lives like that.
My wife just had one of those laser skin peel treatments on her face (sneaky, didn't tell me about it, just handed me a bill...) But after a couple weeks her skin was noticeably smoother. So, there are ways to enhance or improve skin appearance with no or less makeup.
It's great for those who are naturally pretty/beautiful.
I was sort of thinking that as well. How fair is this? If you don't have acne then great, if you aren't Italian then no problem, if you don't have a uni brow then you probably don't care right. lol
But, if you do, I can imagine it would be hard.

Well sort of and sometimes. Depending on the skin issues I guess.
I need my makeup. I look sick/tired without it. I am not quite as insistent as my mother who won't go to the store for a can of peas without eye makeup. However, I had to go without makeup for 7 days before and after lasik surgery. At home I was ok but going to work that way??? I hated it! When I have a little color in the summer, I don't have to "do" my whole face but will still do my eyes.
My hair is natural - no color, no perm, no curling or straightening - however it dries is how it is going to be (I will on occasion use mousse, gel or a hair dryer to add some body).
Shaving--- I can go for a while (longer on legs and during winter when I am more covered) but don't think I could go 60 days. That would be pushing the comfort zone a little far.
Many days are no makeup days, here. My "makeup" days are pretty light, too.
I don't have a problem with makeup, but I'd hate to feel, as many women do, that I can't leave the house if I don't put any on. On days I don't wear makeup, I still wear moisturizer/sunscreen.
As much as I'd love for this to catch on (although, most of my girlfriends are sans makeup regardless) women are still primarily judged on their looks and therefore I don't think most women would want to participate.
Hell, the guy I'm currently dating spent the night at my place for the first time a while ago and he was completely surprised that I washed my face and took off all my makeup before going to sleep. He said most girls he saw went to bed with a complete face full of makeup.
