1. Houndstooth pattern: Yay! I've always thought clothes sporting this pattern looks classy.

2. Capes: No Way! Only for halloween...

3. Animal prints: Nay! I'm not a fan of animal prints, they lend to look cheap.

4. Purple: Yayayay! Very "in" right now.I think it's the new black.

5. Bows: Nay. They can be worn appropriately, but finding something to put them on that looks good, is slim.

6. Chunky knits: Nay! Although I have a few chunky knit sweaters, I've received negative comments about my "grandma like" outfit.

7. Metallics: Yay! Everyone needs a good metallic accessory. Whether it's a retro gold necklace or a silver plastic purse, try not to overdo this trend.

8. School boy look: Nay. I am sooo tired of seeing boys wear girl jeans and grow their hair out long. I think we should all go back to looking our gender. There are plenty of clothes for females that still look not-as-dressy and still look good.

Okay. I have read all of the posts and just have to ask...are there any peeps out there that are over 55-60-65, that still care about fashion due to still being in the work force?

When I was younger it was easier to pick and choose from so called trends, now that I have reached the status of being a senior citizen , I find that there are so few choices that don't look as if I am at a funeral or in one.

Oh, I am still active in real estate, full time...

Give us your vote on some of these top trends:

1. Houndstooth pattern--love it!

2. Capes--make you look fat.

3. Animal prints--only in the original animal color.

4. Purple--a favorite color and I always get compliments when I wear it.

5. Bows--in the right places.

6. Chunky knits--probably not, some are all right.

7. Metallics--love them in handbags and footwear, and jewelry.

8. School boy look--I'm not sure I know what that is, probably not.

Feel free to add your own too.
9. I believe red will be in again?

1. Houndstooth pattern
2. Capes
I actually have a houndstooth cape, lined in gold satin, that my mother made back about 1965. Not sure I'm bold enough to wear it!

3. Animal prints
Oh yeah!

4. Purple
Of course, purple is one of my colors.

5. Bows
Not at my age.

6. Chunky knits
Not with my figure.

7. Metallics
Love 'em! In small doses.

8. School boy look
Again, not at my age!

You mean houndstooth checks were out???

I'll skip the bows and animal prints -- both of which are more suited to my six-year-old niece -- but purple is my favorite color next to lime green!
