I can spot a fake bag from a mile away.

I don't understand why people buy them. A) You're supporting a street corner operation and B) Why do you want something that's just mocking something else?

I love bags b/c they're cute, not as a status symbol. I don't want something with fake letters on it just to show off. I would take a $100 bag that is what it is over a mock version of a $900 bag anyday.

As for what's carried around here...you name it! Hermes, LV, Chloe, Coach, Balenciaga, D&B. I tend to see a lot of the LV mono (of which I'm not a fan.)
Omg, that Fendi Fortuny is sooooo cute!!!!!!!

I bought my first Fendi in March while shopping in Vegas and I love it so much. I really want to get another one. I know I can just go to Short Hills or the city, but I think I may hold out to see if I go to Vegas again in the winter. It was really fun to splurge in Vegas.

We had such an issue with knock-offs when I used to frequent a popular online auction site's message boards. We would compare notes on some of the items we were selling and one day, a seller revealed that she was selling knock offs. Boy did they let her have it! I learned so much about seediness behind the 'knock offs' industry that I personally, would try to avoid it where possible. I used to live in NY to so I'm very familiar with canal st. and all the other places where you can get that stuff. I'm not much of a brand girl at all now-a-days, but I admit in my younger days, I would've been all over it.

I collect vintage handbags. If I go anywhere there's a rummage sale/flea market, I hunt & pick through handbags to see if there's a find. I have some from the 30's, 40's & 50's & actually display them all (except the few clutches I have) on 1 whole wall. It's pretty, an interesting topic of conversation & this way I can see them all & use them, rather than have them in the back of a closet. My house looks like a store!

What's interesting with vintage is what you might find in a purse. An old initial embroidered hankerchief, an old calling card, train receipts from the 50's, theatre/opera tickets from the 60's. I keep them in the bag in honor of the owner who has probably passed on, so she knows I'm loving taking care of her accessories. I think I'll begin doing the same. Next ballet or play, I'll leave the ticket stub in the purse. Some little girl will find it 30-yrs from now. Maybe I'll take out the Iggy Pop & NIN tickets. Don't want to scare the little girl...

Have fun... VV

Starting collecting Louis' at 29 and that is all I use. It goes with everything and lasts forever. You can tell the fake one's because the handles always stay light colored since they are not leather.

I love LVs. I haven't mustered up the courage to buy one yet but I like that style with the horrizontal ridges. It's fab!

I think the first one I got was about $225 in,gulp, 1985. Just a short while ago someone complimented my "vintage" Louis. Talk about feeling old!

I used to be a faithful Kate Spade (real ones) bag owner. Now I'm sort of into Vera Bradley and the big Italian leather bags. I really don't like 'labels', but if you gave me a Hermes Birkin bag I wouldn't turn it down

I love Puma's new line of handbags! I have a green/white/yellow "bowling bag" style.
