Sadly, that's not true anymore. A lot of offices are degenerating their dress code to more casual (typically club clothing). It's sad really. Americans used to dress for success, now we dress for leisure.
Im not talking about the office that has globally dropped its dress code (and thats not a sad thing at all).
Im talking about offices that have the business attire requirements. Women can practically get away with almost anything and not get "pulled aside". Ive seen skorts, coolattes, mini skirts, halter tops, sweaters, khakis, etc. However, a man simply doesnt put a tie on his penguin suit, and all hell breaks lose.
IMO, if they offered more selections you all probably wouldn't wear it anyways. I worked in a few retail stores and I rung up guys buying the same things over and over again, just different colors/sizes. LOL.
This is how my husband operates.
Same pants, same style shirts, same jeans, same tees even the same shoes!!! BORING.
I have brought home a few new items for him to wear and they wind up in the back of the closet, and then to goodwill.
At least all those that shop there are well dressed.

Fair enough. Women should be held to the same standards as men. And that is to dress like you are in a professional place rather than a club.
I see a lot of men and women wearing club clothing to work instead of proper suit and ties and it's disgusting.
Yea it's definitely limited. A lot of my pants are actually women's pants because its expensive to get men's pants with patterns, you have to hit specialty shops like Hot Topic. I got some cool women's leopard print pants that fit me pretty well for like $10, getting them for men would be at least $40.

Yeah, why complain when actually, you are perfectly free to shop for women's clothing too. I say if it fits and looks at least reasonably ok, wear it. Don't feel you have to conform. As a man with a rather small frame and long legs in relation to my torso, I find a lot of stuff made for women just seems to fit me better from a practical point of view (and for comfort). Many items of clothing made for the typical man fit me far too loosely, or just don't fit my body form.
It bothers me that it's acceptable for women to wear men's clothing without anyone batting an eyelid, but not vice-versa.
Maybe the choices for men's clothes aren't limited. It could be the choices for women's clothes are unnecessarily excessive. I have two legs and two arms. There are only so many different ways I can cover them up. I have never felt limited in my clothing options. My only complaint about departments stores is the women's sections always have sales while the men's section is always regular price.

Lol that's awesome, so what what people think, and come to think of yeah why not? If it fits you I mean.
I wanted a pair of teal pants, but I couldn't find any in the stores or even something I liked online, so I had a pair tailored when I was in Asia. They look great except I'm not sure about the quality of the workmanship as 6 months in and the button has fallen off.
