Men definitely should wear sandals, just as long as they don't wear socks, ESPECIALLY black ones to their knees!

But this is exactly what many guys are wearing now.... Tall black basketball socks with slider sport sandals, just like the NBA players....

Acceptable IMO...

NOT acceptable IMO (even if they are French designer sandals)...

I never have.
Bizarro...this has to be an American thing.

Meh the OP cares and wants an opinion. Should have made a poll. If you care what you look like, avoid them for everyday use aside from the beach.

If he doesn't care, then do what you have to. But there really is no easy way for a guy to pull off sandals in an every day setting, unless maybe youre into some real fashion forward style that you can make ordinarily silly things look good, or be European.

If youre on a beach or 60+ years old, I'll leave that as the exception.
I have no trouble running or lifting in sandals. I've never had occasion to push a car in sandals. I don't get it; why should they be a hindrance? Haven't you ever seen kids running in sandals?

I agree. I've never heard of this. Maybe it's because the men's footwear industry in the US doesn't have much to offer in terms of fashionable summer sandals?

Of course you can do the things mentioned, but make two equal people race, one in shoes/sneakers and one in sandals, the outcome is obvious. I've pushed a car in loose sneakers, equivalent of sandals vs. tight and it is a massive difference.

For any sort of movement outside a sandbox, sandals are not optimal.
