Oh geez. I'm afraid to add it up. last week's purchase from Bergdorf for two items was over $140 and I've got $300+ in my shopping cart at Sephora...just debating on some products before I hit the "order" button.

Well under 100, because I try to only keep a few basic products, and I don't buy non-drugstore brands too often.

Just wanted to add: if my family (other than my husband) or friends had any idea how much I spent on makeup and the like, they would be mortified. I've been trying to cut back on my makeup spending because I just don't glammed up the way I used to, but I just can't resist all those pretty colors.

The one thing I am willing to invest in is a great makeup organizer. I'm considering something like this for in my closet, although my fear is it won't hold enough of my stuff:

I am a makeup junkie and have no idea how much money I have invested. It is just so much fun. My favorite store, and the only one that can get me to the mall, is Sephora.

I rarely carry a lot of cash with me, plus 99% of my purchases are made online...which means I must be in debt up to my eyeballs! And considering how tall I am...that's pretty high!

I can understand why a woman could sink $$$ into makeup, given how much of an image driven society we are.

Maybe 300 or less? Its hard to guess. I collect slowly and try to find stuff that keeps and is versatile.
But even drugstore compacts are about 10$ now. YEESH.

You should check out youtube videos for collection storage ideas. A lot of artists have those and just add to the storage with other clear pieces as the collection grows. Even if you just can fit your season's colors in your first buy its totally worth it. NYX also makes professional makeup cases for travel if you wanted to pack away your summer colors or nailpolish etc.

NYX Cosmetics - Bags and Cases

You can go with higher end cases than that of course but you will pay for it.

Another option is to depot and condense into large artist pallets. Some have premade holes like MAC's and some are just empty magnetic trays so you can fit in odd shapes etc.

You can also depot your lipsticks into a master pallet and make it look pretty with a hair dryer on low to melt it into the pan.

I've also thought about purchasing the Mac carry all. Its about $250 but it would just give me an excuse to head to the Mac store. However, I'm low on some products so I'm hitting it later this week
