A woman who got a new tattoo to celebrate her role in the Olympic torch relay was shocked to discover it had been spelt incorrectly.

Jerri Peterson, from Atlanta in the US, carried the torch through Derby on 30 June after being nominated by the hotel chain she worked for.

That is a terribly done tattoo to begin with. Ugh.

Agreed. I'm not against tattoos or anything, but this one, spelling aside, is pretty lame.
What I don't get is how it got spelled wrong in the first place. It's not like a keyboard typo, I mean someone was staring at it for hours putting it on and never noticed?

Man...she didn't even notice the incorrect spelling herself, until it was pointed out to her....maybe that's why she's willing to just let it go....UGLY, UGLY tat...too bad it's her first.

Your brain simply corrects the mistake and you don't see it. That's why a lot of writers have people proof their work for them, or barring that -- reading your work out loud slows you down to really see each word.
