I liked dressing up, in the formal event sense of dressing up. I like dressing casually. Business casual, however, sucks. The worst clothing choices on the planet.
Chuckling because I never thought someone with the profile name veuvegirl would comment on expense. I don't believe it's more expensive to dress up - that depends on where you shop. There are a lot of casual clothes that cost a fortune
No I miss dressing up to. I went to Ruths Chris for NYE one year for our anniversary and I was in a stunning $400 floor length dress. Others were in shorts and very casual. I couldn't believe it...
I keep telling my ex I need a dress up night to hit a high end restaurant so I can wear something sexy but am getting nothing
I guess I go from one extreme to the other. I've worked in an office environment before and HATED business casual, but loved casual Fridays While I won't wear sweat pants or dirty clothing (or ugg boots for that matter) out in public, I'm usually in jeans, flip flops and a fitted tshirt, no logos, no makeup, hair up in a ponytail. Maybe it's a California thing, but nearly everyone wears flip flops or goes barefoot nearly year round.
On the other hand, I LOVE vintage-ish dresses and when I go out it's something like this:
Just got back from Walmart. The "woman" ahead of me was disgusting. She was wearing jeans at least two sizes too small and a very tight top. What was disgusting was she was eating the Walmart Deli fried chicken in the check out line. She even had a leg in her mouth as she paid the cashier and then had to wipe the grease off her hand to accept three change and receipt. Cashier wasnt too thrilled either.

I am a 26 year old male who recently got into mens fashion and I wish I could dress up more often. I work in the tech industry, in a very casual work setting, and will dress business casual usually. However, every week I have one day where I go all out with a blazer, dress shirt w/french cuffs, wool trousers, etc. It feels so good to dress up. I wish I could dress up more frequently, but my work setting isn't too amenable to that.

Love it! And I know the feeling.
