I agree. The Gold Standard of Beauty seems to have changed in the past decade to ethnic. - dark hair and eyes, olive skin and very full lips.

When I was a young teenager, 12, 13, 14, Cheryl Tigue, Christie Brinkley and others were The Gold Standard. Petite features, smaller lips, skin that tanned but was certainly not olive and light eyes. My son blond that has become darker with green eyes puts vasaline on his hair to darken it.

I have a niece with beautiful blond hair and blue eyes who actually dies it black! It looks wrong and bad on her.

I say we dispense with Gold Standards of Beauty based on coloring.

I have blond hair that has darkened to dirty blond and green eyes. I high light it. I look washed out with dishwater hare and I bon't give a krap what the kardasians do or have.

Let's see....who are the hot sex symbols?

Kim Kardashian, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Scarlet Johansen, Hugh Jackman, Sophia Veragas, All the twighlight crap-actors.....and much much more.

*yawn*...and none of them are blonde with blue eyes.
Some people seem to be projecting whatever issues they may have on others.

I was in fact referring to the poster by the name of nyanna. I had just come here from a thread she had started about considering suicide and mistook this as another thread she had started. Given that she was dominating it. Perhaps the fact that I mentioned the other thread might have tipped you off? And for you to see my post as condescending and ridiculous tells us all a lot more about you than you even realize.

I'm not sure why you mention people's interest in this topic, can you explain that? Did I suggest otherwise?

Only in white European cultures. The world is more than Europe and Anglo-America.

I'm Latin and russian with naturally dark brown hair and all I know is I just got a few caramel and honey highlights and I have been getting so much more attention. Maybe it's flattering on me or maybe light really does equal feminine?

What do you think she was before she got discovered? She wouldn't be where she is now if someone hadn't noticed her beauty before she became famous.

I'm a brown eyed brunette, so I don't know...and never seemed to be hindered by it.
