It's almost here!...The September issue of Vogue will be out shortly so I thought I'd open a thread to find out :
1. who is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the fashion bible
2. if anyone has any rituals/traditions attached to the issue
3. comments and discussion about it's contents (e.g. loves, hates, must haves, etc.)

I'll start...

1. I can't wait, I look forward to this issue all year.
2. I actually purchase 2 copies - One I will tear out pages of what I love and/or must have to either order the exact item or find a close equivalent. The first Sunday after the issue has been released is my ritual day. I have a spa day at home in the afternoon (e.g. facial, sea salt bath, etc.) and then it's a fruit and cheese platter and champagne as I spend hours and hours going through the magazine.

Comments for item 3 will have to wait until after the release.

I've already started scouting the stands for when it hits. I LOVE September Vogue! I tear into it as soon as I get home, browsing it about 3 times, and then I write a wrap-up of the stand-out trends, colors, fabrics and silhouettes and email it around to my friends. I also turn down corners for looks I want to emulate within my budget constraints. I went crazy 2 autumns ago trying to find an affordable python (or python-stamped leather) bag. They were still too high-end for me to get one. Last year I did find a cute one and it will be my fall/winter purse again this year. I'm looking forward to breaking it out in September.

A couple of weeks after the mag comes out, I go through my closet and weed out any items that are too far gone beyond the fashion curve. Most items that get tossed are ~5 years old, although there are always 1-2 inexpensive fad items that are newer that I buy just for a pop for one or two seasons.

I've received W, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, but no Vogue. It irks me as a longtime subscriber. Subscribers should be be receiving it before its available on news stands.

I'm not a womens fashion magazine reader, mainly because I'm a 26 year man, but I'm thinking about picking up a copy after work today.

On a unrelated noted, it really sucks not having a quality mens fashion magazine (and no, GQ is not quality, though it's not bad).

What's prompting you to pick up a copy?

1. I like fashion.

2 I don't normally pay attention to womens fashion, minus following a few blogs and occasionally browsing thefashionspot, but I'd like to learn more.

I so wish they'd go back to using models on the covers.
