So is it just as sad and depressing when a woman with light hair or "dishwater" hair dyes her hair a rich brown, auburn, or even black? Because I see this all the time and it never bothers me as a natural brunette. People like to change their look up, and look at all of the unnatural looking brunettes out there. Celeb examples are Katy Perry and Megan Fox.

as far as black women go, I have to say one of the most beautiful woman I have seen since moving to Boston was a half black half white woman who had bronze skin skin, was 5'8", and had golden highlights. It was magnificent and that's coming from a straight woman.

I hear this b.s. in real life and online. I wasn't even expecting to stumble across this but I did. So I guess since I don't have light bronzed skin, white ancestry and long golden highlights I'm ugly. So tired of hearing that the only way a woman of color can be beautiful is if she looks like she is mixed with White

people think my mom is mixed just because they admit she's pretty. But she's obviously not mixed people see you're beautiful they just don't want to admit it.

Also imo no one is really just beautiful or just ugly because opinions vary. We're all both ugly and beautiful varying among the person who is looking at us. So we're all equal imo. That's just how I see it...

I'm just curious how the person knows someone is mixed black and white(unless she told her).
You simply can't tell.

Nyanna, think Naomi Campbell and Alec Wek,too beautiful dark skinned models.

Nowhere in that statement does it say women of color are only beautiful if they're part white. That's your word, not theirs.

they tend to just assume. Like some assume all light skinned or long softer hair are mixed and some assume if you look hot you're mixed because they don't admit women without white in them are attractive. It's all assumptions really. Individual basis.

It's true, the examples of black women that are considered beautiful are mostly more mixed. When was the last time you saw an AMERICAN celeb like Serena Williams being considered a sex symbol?

You really base your level of attractiveness on what is perceived as pretty by society's standards?

How old are you?

that is exactly what the statement is saying. read it again:

"as far as black women go, I have to say one of the most beautiful woman I have seen since moving to Boston was a half black half white woman who had bronze skin skin, was 5'8", and had golden highlights. It was magnificent and that's coming from a straight woman."

black women=beautiful=half black half white

the poster is saying that black women who don't look visibly mixed with white are not beautiful.
