I agree. When I was little I was certainly not allowed to wear shoes with HEALS....or dangly earings... and I couldn't wear make-up until I was 17!

Hanna Andersen does have cute clothes. They just opened a store near me & I went on a little spending spree (but yes, they are pricey). Also pricey, but very classic and pretty.... Jacardi....and Petit Pattipan...

I must confess, though, I just bought my daughter (whose 4) some True Religion, and Seven Jeans (which are a little 'mini-me---ish', but it certainly doesn't look like she's about to hit the 'club'). And when she was a baby, I bought her a 3/4 length trench coat from Theory. Mostly, I just thought it was funny to see her in clothes that I wanted...but scaled down.

Old Navy does have very cute colorful & inexpensive clothes...actually, Target even has really cute kids clothes! When I pass by stores like Limited Too & see 'panties' I always think 'um...at 8/9 I was still wearing underwear WITH an undershirt under eveything'

***most stores in the mall do sell cute trendy clothes but it depends on the selection they have
It might be easier to shop on line. This way you can preview the clothing first. Our store Patchwork Princess - Little Girls Clothing Home Page specializes in traditional clothing for little girls.
