Brooks Brothers just had their Friends and Family sale, so you could have gotten some decent dress shirt and ties from them. I don't know about what type of "look" you're into, but their extra slim fit dress shirts are almost perfect in terms of fit. They are slim, but not body tight slim. At their sales, you can get them for 40% off, perhaps more if you are a corporate member. They should have another end of season sale in late October or December, and you'll be able to find good prices then.

Stay away from Lands End (slim fit is not slim), Nordstrom Brand shirts (slim fit is not slim), and most major mall brands.

You could also look into Charles Tyrwhitt. They are a London (Saville Row) based store which sells cheap and good quality dress shirts. They tend to be pretty slim and the pattern matching is good. They constantly have 4 for $200 deals.

Hugo Boss suits SUCK! They are half canvassed garbage made in China. Either go with Brooks Brothers or look into Hickey Freeman.

Hugo Boss suits are made in Italy using Italian fabrics.

I agree with Calipoppy.

This to me is really hot!

Donald Trump, that's boring. :P

This is still pretty good though:

Oooo, he is hot!! I love stylish British men!!

I think that men who are not confident about their bodies tend to go for the big, boxy, shapeless suits that are like the male equivalent of a "muumuu" or tent dress.

They have MANY different lines, and all of them suck. Once again, half canvassed suits are never good. The OP be better off with a LOT of other brands such as Samuelsohn, Howard Yount, etc.

Here's a list of suit quality, taken from Styleforum.
http://www.styleforum.net/t/140387/t...st-sfwhsql/435

From the Hogo Boss wiki:

Products are manufactured in a variety of locations, including the company's own production sites in Izmir, Turkey; Radom, Poland; Morrovalle, Germany during the war; Cleveland, USA; and Metzingen, Germany.[3]

I would also add Charvet to this list, for ties, if not also shirts, since Charvet shirts are well tailored, though at similar price points to Hermes.

Anyone that considers a Brooks Brothers, Hickey Freeman, or Zegna suit "average, acceptable quality" is really skewed as to what the general population purchases. I can't even take this list seriously; what about Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Stafford, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, etc etc?!! I mean obviously when one considers a Hugo Boss suit as "average", they don't understand when regular people wear in suits.

I'd love a Brioni suit but I don't have Donald Trump money to purchase one. I've gotten numerous compliments on the Hugo Boss suit, it fits my body well because Boss suits are generally made for thinner men, and I've never had problems with the gluing showing any sign of bubbling. Most people spend less than $500 on a suit, that price would barely touch a "mediocre" Joseph Abboud. Simply ridiculous list.

Those suits aren't terrible all things relative. But I simply CANNOT STAND...I repeat...CANNOT STAND skinny ties!! Hate, hate, hate!!!

It looks awful, terrible, completely ridiculous.

A tie should be thick and wide. I generally like a spread collar because it allows for a thick knot and wide ties to hang correctly.

Skinny ties are a no-no where I work, nobody wears a skinny tie...ever. If I wore a skinny tie to a business meeting, I'd probably be laughed at or wouldn't even show up.
