I don't wear black anymore except for work slacks. It looks awful on me, especially in the winter when I am already washed out. I wear colors (green, purple, some dark teal) and neutrals (cream, shades of brown). I try not to wear white either, except for V-neck undershirts that I wear most days for warmth.
Colors for me. I wear dark neutrals or dark denim on the bottom, and my tops are colorful. I tend to wear a lot of blue, turquoise, red (if it's a bluish red), plum, pink, fuchsia, burgundy, gray (light or charcoal), occasionally green (although not much because I joke that wearing green makes me look like a Christmas tree). I do wear some black, but it's rare for me to wear a solid-black top. In the summer I like to wear stark white. It's a good color for me (even though I'm very pale). I'm learning to wear yellow -- which is tough for a redhead, but I've learned that I can do it if the yellow is very pale and pastel.
I don't wear patterns, except in my scarves. And I'm big on colorful costume jewelry.
I wear prescription glasses and have 2 pairs that I switch out regularly. One pair is deep purple and the other is turquoise. I tend to coordinate clothes with my glasses. (My glasses are like jewelry to me. I wish I had more pairs!)
I used to know a woman whose ENTIRE wardrobe -- no exceptions, and I mean that literally -- was black, white, or black-and-white. It was her signature look. She always looked nice, but at the same time, how boring!!
