Sweatshirts and sweatpants! Like them or hate them, it looks like Philadelphians are the biggest consumer of this style of clothing! Experise Marketing has recently done a survey on what parts of the country see the most purchases of these clothes. I first heard about this on NPR...

Top 20 most

Do you all agree with this list? How popular are sweats were you live? What do you notice about the style? I know that Philly is a college town, and the style is most popular among young people. However, are there any other factors at play? Discuss.

I quite frankly, love sweats...though do not think I am a big fan of sloppy or the grunge look! I love stylish clothes on men and women, but sweats do look appealing as well, especially on a cold Fall day!

I saw alot of people wearing them when I lived in Minnesota and Illinois (nrothern part) - they are pretty popular in the Midwest because they are easy care, cheap, and WARM.

I don't think 'sweats' and 'fashion' belong in the same sentence. Sweats are for walking the dog at the crack of dawn or for when you have the flu.

I like it, especially the sweats without the elastic ankle bands. Comfy, warm, and looks decent.

Not out in public - A sweatshirt is one thing, sweatpants are a whole 'nother ballgame. Wear them at home when you're cold.
