My daughter is 5'4" and weighs about 110. She wears a size 0.

I don't remember what size I wore in middle school and high school. I do know that the vanity sizing is kind of ridiculous.

I can remember my grandmother, in the 60's or 70's, saying women's clothing sizes were more generous than they used to be.
In the 70's I was 20 pounds lighter and wore 1 to 2 sizes larger than I do now. I don't even recall size 4 or smaller being available then. I know I never heard of a size zero then.

In order to not start another thread - are shoes getting bigger now as well? I was always a 6 (sometimes 6 1/2 and even 7 back when I could wear high heels) - I now am finding that 6's are big and actually had to buy a 5 in a brand that is new to me (new to the store as well).

Yeah the vanity sizing is irritating, but In tops mostly, I end up buying a size or two larger because I know that the d*mn top will shrink up and be 2" shorter on the bottom. Even when you wash and rinse in cold like the instructions say. WORST by far are anything made in cotton from India. I am so DONE with those, never again. I have been burned way to many times.

I only buy shoes that are made in Europe now. A lot of the shoes are made in China and they don't fit right and are cheaply made so I found two or three brands that I will buy and that's it. Same with the made in Mexico or Brazil junk.

As for tops, I was always skinny and underweight and wore a sz 9/10 most of my adult life. What would I wear now, a zero? A minus? lol. They should just be honest with us and give us the real size, not something they think we want to hear.
