Do some guys have a skewed perspective on "average"?

I have a buddy who swears he "doesn't want a model." He says he wants an average-looking woman. Yet every woman he goes for is young, has not an ounce of body fat, and has no kids tying her down. But because the types of women he goes for don't really wear much makeup, he thinks he is pursuing average women.

To me, an average woman, the type of woman i go after (and all too often get rejected by) is one who is about my age, has a cute face, a warm and caring personality, a sense of humor, moderately overweight but not huge, and maybe has a kid or two running around the house.

So what does everyone think? Are some guys guilty of just saying that they pursue average women, when in fact they really are pursuing extremely attractive women?

"Average" means he feels he is settling. Does he really want Megan Fox? Hell yes. And would he dump the little porker with 3 kids for Megan Fox if she came along? Hell double yes.

*Shakes head*

I like cute better than what most people define as hot.

Also, have you seen Megan Fox lately?

Doesn't even look natural once she did all that plastic surgery.

Attraction is a very personal thing and different to each person.. i dont get involved with peoples standards or who they do or dont find attractive..I know for myself even though im horrible attracting women while i dont think i have strict standards i also would rather be alone then with somebody im not that attracted to and i know wont get my peepee aroused..

Just like some people get annoyed that most women are attracted to tall not short men i used to be one of them but then i realized its a no win situation trying to change what people are attracted to..

Lowering your standards to the point of being with somebody you have lukewarm attraction to is not good for either party imo..

"Average" is literally about 80% of the population. So just about everyone you will encounter in your lifetime will be considered average looking.

However, people can dress well, groom themselves and wear make up to make them appear more attractive, as well as your perception augmenting those people's attractiveness towards you. It's pretty complicated and interesting to think about, really.

I agree that women with kids are not desirable to me, but what does that have to do with the way they look?

What kind of bugs me is when guys say they like the natural look, but of course only when the woman is so beautiful that no make-up can improve upon her. They don't like the natural look when the woman looks like a regular woman. And they expect some kind of credit for not being shallow when they express this preference for women born aesthetically flawless.

I disagree. Where I live, women don't know how to put on make up.
