Do any of you ladies have good leads for nice modest clothing for girls and ladies?

I have been so dissapointed with the selection in the stores that I tend to make almost all of our clothes myself. But, I feel like I could better use some of that time on things I find more enjoyable, like gardening and Bible study, so I am hoping some of you may have some "secret" places you know to find Godly clothing.

Thank you!

What kind of clothes are you looking for? Just about every store with exception to cheapy stores geared towards teens (think Forever 21 and the like) has plenty of modest clothing. For work/professional type clothes, Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft sell pretty conservative gear. For casual stuff LL Bean or Lands End would work.

I'm looking for clothes that bring attention to the countenance and not the body. Generally, me and my girls keep everything below our collar bone and above the calf and elbow covered. Nothing too tight or revealing. Also no slits in skirts.

Most stores don't meet our needs. The clothes are too tight, too revealing, or have slits in the skirts. Slits are our downfall!

Default ll bean

ll bean may be your best bet. Sign up online to receive their snail mail catalogue. J. Jill in the mall also has modest clothing, as does Eddie Bauer.

Try Baptist Burkas in Stone Oak Center ... not revealing, plus good protection from the hot San Antonio sun.

I would think that most of the bigger stores, like Carson P. S. or Macy's, even Kohls would have some clothes like you are looking for. Not all the clothes there are skimpy. You'll have to look around.

I would think any major department store would have conservative looking clothing. However, you would look in the areas for older women, and not for young people. You basically want grandmother type clothing. And if you like a skirt that has a slit in it, buy it and just sew it up.

Coldwater Creek is a good store, too, for modest yet trendy clothing and accessories. Most of the outfits have long sleeves and long skirts but yet cute at the same time. If there is not a store in your mall, they have a fabulous catalog and online service.
