Let me start by saying that I love men's inspired women's wear. I especially love Oxford shoes. I recently had an interaction with a woman who complimented me on one of my pairs of Oxfords, and ended it with, "I wish I could wear them, because they're so cute, but I can't pull it off."

Ladies, do you find Oxfords particularly difficult to wear/style? Why or why not?

I have a few pair that are similar to these and they are fairly comfortable...

Those are much too high for me!

Most of mine are very much men's inspired, but I also have a couple girly pairs (one heeled). I love them, they're so comfortable.

When you say "Oxfords", I'm thinking of the black and white "saddleshoes" that we used to wear as kids! Perfect for those rollerskates with the "key"!!!

Saddleshoes are a type of Oxford, but Oxfords go far beyond that. They don't always have to be two-toned, but they typically are.

These are classics:

These are more casual:

And heeled:

They remind me of my Aunt Edie and her thick flesh-toned support stockings. Put me in the "wouldn't be caught dead" column. Also, I avoid tie shoes like poison.

Reminds me of the early 80's Breakfast Club era.

Had a hot girlfriend that love to wear oxfords, tight blue jeans and Lacoste polo's. Did mention she was hot?

These are my current favorite pair of oxfords. I wear them with everything from leggings/dresses, skirts, to pants (as seen here).

What type of footwear do you tend to wear?

I like it. They're not terribly on trend but they have a nice individual flair to them without being obnoxiously unique. They strike a really nice balance.
