I want to glam up my style a bit but don't want to look like im wearing a dressing gown or matronly. I've had my eye on this for a while--im going for an urban chic look as I'll be living in Philadelphia and working in NYC quite a bit. Also, do people still wear coats like these in the city? What are your thoughts?

I think it's a bit long an that that site has more interesting coats than that. Here's what I prefer

Ivory Mink Faux Fur Ruched Full Length Coat | Fabulous-Furs

Mahogany Mink Faux Fur Ruched Couture Stroller | Fabulous-Furs

Fur and faux is tricky. It's associated with the past, a style now mostly left to old ladies with enormous sunglasses and blue hair. But it doesn't have to be that way, it just requires the right attitude and pairings with more youthful or whimsical elements.

$700 is an awful lot for what is essentially a hooded bathrobe. And hoods are for parkas, not dressy coats.

Im anti-fake fur.

To me it looks cheap unless you are going for a kitschy type look.

Just look at a couple real furs vs fakes. Its just not the same thing.

All fur is a bit much too these days for fashion and being just way too hot if its real.

I like coats like these:

Glamorous Classic skinny warm coat | martofchina.com

The collar is fox fur and you can take it off when its warmer and it doesn't look like an old lady coat.
Also much cheaper to clean a removable collar vs. a full coat. (fake fur or not)

I really like the Ivory Mink full length, looks quite elegant and glamorous.

Overkill. Go with a long wool coat. And a short fur coat.

Are you super thin and tall with no/small (A cup) breasts? If so, it may work on you. Otherwise, that coat is going to be incredibly unflattering.
