As someone who has to wear glasses most of the time since I was 8 years old, I hate them. I tried contacts for a while, but my prescription was expensive as all hell since I have astigmatism.

I don't get the stupid trend, it's mainly hipsters wearing it where I live and it just makes you look like an idiot imo.

Sometimes glasses make your face look better. I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade, and one time they saved my vision when a baby at a party tried to poke my eye. I tried contacts but didn't like touching my eyes putting them on and off.

Social marketing and the sad reality is that there are enough know-nothings to follow the trend. kind of like when k.west wore the shutter glasses. the stupidest thing ever, but it was a hit with plenty of followers. teenagers tend to wanna be part of the 'in' and 'hip' crew....so many will follow these silly trends.....hey but youre only young once!!!!

The reason you see it on tv or print ads is due to glare. The lenses give off a glare so they wear frames without the lenses. Otherwise, that eyewear stores ad would be nothing but blinding white spots and not the actual frames.

I've not seen this.... Since about 4 years ago. Some girls were wearing glasses without a frame that were near comedy size. They looked extremely stupid.
