I have a pair of Sorel boots I have had for 15 years. I have bought a new lining for them twice.
So....that makes it out to about $10 a year. They never wear out. These are serious snow boots. But they still look nice with jeans. And even a denim skirt.
I got a protectant spray with mine, which is supposed to guard against water spots. Also if i'm not mistaken there is a way to clean water spots off of them, seen it on Pinterest once, may want to check it out. I just bought my first pair of Uggs and i'm 29 and love them. Don't listen to the jealous people who can't afford nice boots. If you want them at any age I say go for it, wear what you like, as long as you are happy who cares what others think! Also if you are going to purchase them go to a Journeys outlet I saw them for $150.00 there for the classic tall. Shame I didn't go there myself and purchase, I ended up paying $220.00 for mine.
P.S. Went to Pinterest and found the water spot removal link...never tried doing any of this, but looks like it works for people. http://www.whooga.co.uk/Cleaning-Ugg-Boots

We can afford them. I just think they are pretty ugly.

Well no one asked you, therefore i'm not sure anyone cares what you think of Ugg boots. A lot of people love them, so who cares if a few people think they are ugly. Besides the topic isn't do you think they are pretty? The topic is should you wear them in the snow.
Oh man... I am out of it. I use my Uggs as work/snow boots because I dislike being cold. My pair do look like doo doo after being in the snow--and being put through the washer and dryer. But the boots do the job they're supposed to do. I guess we are in the "fashion" section. LOL There are probably boots which are great for snow and also look pretty.
