What is with this trend? Has anyone else noticed it?

I've been noticing a lot of bearded men who either don't shave their necks when growing a beard, or just have a neck beard.

If you are a man with facial hair, do you shave your neck? Why or why not?

Ladies who like facial hair, do you find neck beard attractive? Why or why not?

When a bearded man does not shave his neck, or even trim the edges of his beard such as near the cheeks, to me it looks sloppy and unattractive.

A few men with strong features look okay with a closely shaven neck, but I don't usually care for beards at all. Most of the guys with neck beards I've seen are heavier, like Zach Galifianakis or Seth Rogen. Maybe they are trying to disguise a soft jaw or double chin, or maybe they're simply tired of shaving it off. Come to think of it, guys I know with neck beards all have curly hair too, so perhaps they are sick of getting ingrown hairs.

I think it looks horrible unless they have a chiseled face and its that almost beard.

Sometimes even then it looks bad if it blends right into the chest hair...somethings gotta go..lol

The so has neck beard when he is growing back from a clean shave but its not out of control and just hits around the adam apple area. Once his beard is in you cant even see that area much but he trims his neck, cheeks and stache. (random shaping of beard as needed)

Neck beards make everyone who wear them look like homeless bums. I like a man with facial hair, but it has to be groomed and look intentional, not like someone is just too lazy to shave.

"...or just have a neck beard."

That just looks creepy to me. It looks like the guy is sporting some type of fuzzy dog collar.

No, definitely not.

I think it's not knowing how to properly wear a beard.

Neck beard:

No neck beard:

I don't really like shaving, so what I do is just wait as long as possible but always shave my neck. It allows me to go a little longer without shaving and doesn't look near as dirty.

I don't think anyone besides arabs and jews intentionally grow neck beards.

Nice pics. Shia LaBoeuf looks good with it, and it looks groomed and trimmed.

Compare to:

Galifianakis is not full-on scruffy here, but he does look more unkempt than LaBoeuf does above.
