I was at JCP on black friday weekend at one of the busiest malls in the region and it was dead inside JCP. I pretty much called that they will go out of business. I even tried a couple dresses and pants on and not only was the quality cheap (I'm talking ghetto, like Rainbow quality) but the prices were higher than stores like Rainbow and the items just looked cheap.

Why pay $30 for a dress you could get at rainbows or some ghetto junior's clothing store at a strip mall for $15?

The only times I've ever went into JCP was to see new MNG by Mango collections. I haven't visited the store in over a year now, but I'm curious to see how they've changed. Last items I bought there were some underwear and work trousers, and the hem of one of the trousers fell out in less than two months.

Well, not only am I not a shopaholic, I'm now officially old, according to this thread. But I LOVE Penney's now for my kids, because I find reasonably priced stuff for my teen son on any day. I don't have to clip coupons, watch for sales, anything. Just grab the kid, walk in, outfit him, leave without spending a ton. In fact, I pretty much only shop for him at Penney's now.
