I'm not a purse fanatic (I tend to carry the same day bag until it wears out,) but where else are you going to put your wallet, phone, sunglasses, lip gloss, keys, etc.? I know people have said that they don't use them, but not all your clothes are going to have pockets, and you have only two hands.

I carry a purse everywhere. I used to get by sometimes with tucking my phone into my bra, but my new phone is too big for that. The only time I don't carry a purse is when I ride my bike, and then I have all my essentials in the bike basket. If I stop somewhere while riding my bike, I take my basket in as a purse, which looks a little odd but is very functional.

I wear a purse but it's a bit of a pain. For years before driving I wore a backpack, which was much more convenient. Especially now the strap broke on mine and it's very inconvenient to carry it around and I don't want to buy a new one. The zipper unravelled on my last one after only a year. It's one thing after another with these bloody things.

I have a three season trench coat with a zip out liner that has three inner pockets. They easily accomodate my phone, keys, chapstick, cards and any cash. I LOVE IT!!

In warmer weather, I try to get by with the smallest little tote I can find.

I like my handbags.

They're a great gift for my husband to give because they're guaranteed to always fit.

That's exactly why I started carrying just a wallet. They weren't just stealing they were beating them up....

It's rare that I don't carry a handbag, and that is for quick trips here and there, or when I absolutely have to travel light. I have tried to stick with one or two purses for simplicity, but I like having various sizes, colors, and designs to suit the occasion.

Growing up through my early teens, I had cute, girly purses were just for Sunday, or special occasions. I was perfectly content stuffing everything in my pockets the rest of the time, until my father bought me a regular purse. He claimed "pretty girls use purses, not pockets." After that I became accustomed to them. After getting my first job and making real money of my own, I acquired a fetish of sorts for different purses. Now, I don't see myself tiring of them anytime soon.
