I have a friend whom went shopping and i went with her
and they could not fit her with a bra and I felt so bad for her
because she felt very bad and the lady said she was just really
hard to fit and the lady who was trying to fit her is supposed to be
the specialist at this store . she simply could not fit her . i almost cried
I felt so bad so she went home without a bra .I wish I knew what to do .

Most bra fitters suck. And most stores don't carry the right range of sizes at all.

You didn't mention a store. Victoria's Secret has horrible fitting advice. Macy's is hit and miss and doesn't carry enough sizes. Nordstrom does have a good range of sizes, and some Ok fitters.

I am going to guess that your friend falls in to the "full bust" category. Basically this means over a D cup on a band under 36 or so.

1st, she is not a weirdo! There are lots of people with this problem. Most people are sized incorrectly. And most stores don't carry a range of sizes.

I'd recommend getting sized by an indie lingerie shop that carries at least an H cup. (And bands below 32). Or Nordstroms.

Here is a measuring guide, tell her to try this at home. This calculator is pretty accurate. It gets my size within about a cup or so.
Bra Size Calculator Canada

**FYI: I am in one of those "non-standard"sizes. When I got to mainstream stores, they try to size me up very high in the band, in their largest cup and the fit is horrible.

I am hard to fit as well. If I head into Victoria's Secret or similar, they'll size me at around a 38DDD. In reality I am 32HH or so. Most stores will just keep upping the band until the cup fits, which is terrible advice. Most people probably should go down 1-2 band sizes and up a few cups.

Not all bra fitters are created equal and a good portion have no business claiming they are bra fitters. I suggest going to another store. Maybe research stores in your area that are good for bra fitting. Victoria's Secret is terrible. I've had some good bra fitters at Nordstrom, and some so-so ones. A small boutique store will be best. Even with a great bra fitter standing around half clothed under fluorescent lights is enough to break anyone's spirit.

You should google lingerie in your area and see if any smaller privately owned places come up. I believe you may have better luck in a place like that.

A good fitting bra should fit snug round your back on the first hooks. the second or third for when the bra weakens and loses elasticity, the cups shouldnt overflow or bulge but fit well, without gaps.. I dont know why women have to be measured and fitted , surely a woman can tell by the look and feel if it fits well....although I will say that different makes fit differently.. I buy mine from the House of Fraser outlet. the Therapy range, wonderful bras, that give great shape and support..and not too expensive.. good luck.
