I've gone out on dates with this guy who always wears a hat. He's cute, nice and respectful but I wonder why he always wears a hat every time we hang out. Should I ask him why or would that sound disrespectful? Any ideas?

Wellll, I guess you could ask him, wouldn't hurt anything, is there something that you also like to wear all the time? earings?, watch?, jewelery?..it's probably just something he feels comfortable doing.

It's part of his costume. He thinks it makes him look cool. Just a guess, considering we know nothing about him.

He asked me to hang out today. Maybe I should ask him. But do you guys have any ideas why?

I wear a hat when my hair gets too long but still isn't long enough to justify a haircut. Or when I don't feel like washing it.. or because I want to show off that I'm from Michigan so I wear my Tigers hat.

Might be just part of his outfit?

I used to wear a fedora alot when I went out, but I don't do it much anymore. Also whenever one is inside, it is polite to remove's one's hat ...but that's manners from a time when almost every man wore a hat. Nowadays I don't know whether it's acceptable to keep wearing hats at the table.

Just compliment him on the hat and segway that into a question on why he likes it so much. I can't imagine it being a big deal.

It's his misguided attempt to brand himself, when all he's doing is making himself look ridiculous. Doesn't he know that only an idiot wears his hat indoors?
