I love watches!

Have a Rolex Oyster Perpetual - black face c diamonds. Stainless. That's my everyday watch.

Then my 'sporty' watch is my Tag. Kind of a steel look with a grey face. Love that watch! Wear it to dive or whatever.

Have a couple of others like a two-toned Swiss Army.

Men's watches are so much cooler, but I have little wrists...love the Submariner and the look of many other men's watches, but I can't wear them.

Yes. I find it much easier to flip my wrist than pull out my cell phone.

My boyfriend got an Invicta(?) and a Tag from his mom this Christmas. I can't say that I like the Invicta at all. The Tag is nice. I dont know much about watches but what makes these so expensive? Like Movado, Rolex, Tag, Invicta..

I've always worn a watch, right now I have a choice of a timex with a red strap and white face, a hamlyn stainless steel hypoallergenic ( I wear this most) and a white fashion watch with funky coloured numbers. All of them work, all keep perfectly good time without costing me thousands of dollars. Really not sure what the whole 'designer' watch thing is about, had a friend who had 3 failures with his Rolex whilst working on a submarine (pressure issues) while my ex's cheap digital worked just fine.

That's my big thing -- prices and quality. I have a Timex that's I've had for I don't know how long and the band is going. AND as I get older the gold hands on the yellowy beige face are getting harder to see.

So I've been looking. To me -- a watch is a watch and with what I do for a living it makes NO sense to spend on a good watch. It's going to get banged up.

But I keep thinking I should get a good watch.... and then I think back to the Christmas in the 60's when my parents got all three of us and themselves really good watches.... and within that year each watch had broken and been sent back countless times.

So I'm torn... which is why I am reading this thread....

Now that I am a few months into my new watch, I love it. My sister keeps picking on me about the whole watch thing. But I found the perfect one, and it wasn't too expensive. Now I need to figure out to do with my hardly used delicate Movado.
