I don't much care for the look myself. I like some facial hair, but I want to see a beard, or a mustache, or a goatee - not some sort of thinnish scruffy looking stuff.

Besides that, it feels rough on my skin when my husband isn't clean shaven. It's rough when he's nuzzling me, kissing me, etc. It can be quite uncomfortable, unlike a fully grown out beard and/or mustache.

Maybe it's just that his facial hair is very coarse, I don't know. But I do know that in my opinion, he looks better when he's clean shaven except for his mustache. Same with my dad, who has a short beard and mustache.

I think it looks better on younger guys. My gf's brother tries to do that stubble look but he's got patches of grey so it makes him look like a homeless bum and ages him by a decade.

As a man, I don't really care what guys have on their face. But I do have something to say regarding that look. There's alot of men nowadays that have beards but also wear skinny jeans and the smallest t-shirt they could find. It just doesn't look good. How are you going to look masculine and flamboyant at the same time? If your going for the rugged man masculine look, then do it all over. I just don't get it.

OMG I agree!!!!!

What IS it with these tiny shirts and these ridiculous, ill fitting jeans on men? Coupled with the scruffy non-beards, most of them look like they drank wayyyyy too much, threw up on their clothes, and ended up at someone's house and had to borrow clothes two sizes too small - and they haven't made it home to shower and shave yet because they had to get to class or they were going to be dropped.

Guys - please. Don't wear your little brother's clothes. Dress like a man. Between the non beard stubble and these tiny clothes, many of these guys look like fourteen year olds who are really, really proud that they could manage to squeeze out a few chin hairs, but who have had a growth spurt and their mama can't afford to buy them new clothes yet.

Real man:

Not a real man:

Default It's pathetic and incredibly poor taste

I'm a man. I think it is tacky and a reflection of the historically-poor style of men in America today.

Agreed, it's a tragic look. A beard with skin tight t-shirt and skinny highwater jeans showing chicken ankles, which makes their feet look three times the size, like a clown.

Don't even get me started on odd variations, like skinny jeans tucked into work boots. It's like an emo flavored Oreo: Emo filling sandwiched by a layer of lumberjack.
