I'm using marine grade pleather for some clothing. The heavy duty stuff should be a lot better than the cheapy cheap stuff at Walmart, LOL. Is pleather sort of out of style or are the stores just not carrying the stuff anymore? It used to be that in the 90s and early 2000s you'd see pleather and leather clothing all over the place but now it's gone. I'm just curious.

Not 'sort of', but WAY out of style.

Nope, surely you are not weird. But P-Leather was only popular for a short time; some seers still use it for making handbags and accessories, but you won't find much of it being used for garments. Especially the heavy duty type. But have fun with your creations. For the most part, sewing for yourself is all about making what you like.
