I would prioritize on those things where substitutes are not easily found. So:
Foundation - the dusting powder and then the compact (I have just started using 2 - one for morning and one for touch up) = $58
Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation | MAC Cosmetics | Official Site
Mineralize Foundation/Loose | MAC Cosmetics | Official Site
Next - concealer = $18
Select Moisturecover | MAC Cosmetics | Official Site
Blush:
Cremeblend Blush | MAC Cosmetics | Official Site

If i had any money left over lip liner - I love their liners.

I would not get eyeshadow; lipstick; gloss or mascara - those have other companies who do them really well and i would prefer to spend on the above.

For me, it matches my complexion when most other foundations do not. The only thing that came close was prescriptives which cost 3 times as much and is out of business. If your skin isnt hard to match, then it may not be as much of an issue. And, it's quality makeup - if it is on my skin all day - then I prefer something that isnt going to break me out.

Brushes. Even cheap make up looks good done correctly.

Eye shadow. MAC eye shadow stays on longer, and lasts forever.

Being from Toronto (where MAC started) I have been using MAC since the early 90's. They have great colors (professional make-up artists even use it as does the film industry).

I love their lipsticks, liners, and eye shadows. Have never been big on their foundations but more recently have started to use their mascara - they came out with a number of new ones over the last few years.

Have fun!

I don't wear MAC, I prefer premier brands so I would schedule a make-over for someone who likes MAC and they can use the $100 to get the products used on them.

130 short duo fiber brush -42$
Volcano Ash Exfoliator - 28$
Spice lipglass - 15$
Frankley Scarlet blush- 20$

Pay 5 bucks and tax - lol

Avoid: Foundations(colors usually not right for me) , eyeshadow (nyx is just as good), fix (cheaper alternatives that work just as well), Brush cleaner (other solutions/cheaper), brushes with bad reviews, fake eyelashes..they scare me.

Thanks everyone! I actually posted this because I had a gift card to macys and I was planning on blowing it all at MAC.

Upon examining my current stash, I realized I don't have a few staples. This is what I got:

Eyeshadow "Brulee" - matte warm ivory color

Eyeshadow "Satin Taupe" - Dark brown, frost, with plum undertones

Eyeshadow "Satellite Dreams" - Mid shade purple. Good for blending with brown.

Blush "Dusty rose" - very natural looking blush

Powder Plus Foundation "NC30"- nice, air brushed yet not cakey look

Mineralize SkinFinish "Soft and Gentle" -great highlighting powder, limited edition, similar to Hush.

Lip gloss "Viva glam VI"- berry color lip gloss

I LOVE MAC! If I could afford it, I would have stocked up on the new limited edition lip glosses that are moisturizing but they are $20 each and I'm a broke student/unemployed bartender/cheap intern.

I could seriously talk about MAC products all day.

You should look into dupes in the NYX line. I really have not found a MAC lipstick dupe ever but the eyeshadows have a lot. The formulation of MAC lip products are the stars in that line for me.
