I personally wear light make-up to enhance my facial features and overall appearance when I'm at work or out on the town with my significant other or familly and friends. Around the house, trips to the post office or grocery runs to Walmart are times that I don't wear make-up with the exception of a tinted lip gloss. I'm generally satisfied with the way I look without make-up, so I don't spend time applying it and wearing it when I'm busy doing other more important things and enjoying my life. But like I said, when I'm going out dancing or to a nice restaurant, I will do up my eyes and wear a darker shade of lip gloss.

When women don't wear make-up, they're accused of being slobs and not feminine. When women do wear make-up, they're accused of being shallow and deceptive. It doesn't matter WHAT women do, some people will find a reason to complain about it. Around 90% of the threads on this board are nitpicking what "all" women supposedly do or have, whether it's the size of our breasts, the length of our hair, the way we dress, the kind of make-up we wear, how much we weigh, the amount of body hair we remove, etc. It seems that women have to justify every little thing we choose to do with our bodies. How come I never see any threads about men getting bald, men with beer bellies, men wearing clothes that are either way too baggy or way too tight, etc.? If only men were as observant about themselves as they are about the opposite gender Some men on here are so damn entitled. They feel they "deserve" to have a supermodel girlfriend who is also sweet, intelligent, funny and obedient when they are utterly average themselves. And when they don't get the woman of their dreams, they come on here to complain about how women are superficial because they refuse to date average guys like them.

Fantastic post.

So what, some people don't like what we like and will haul insults to get their point across, doing the whole pot kettle dance.

No it's not, it's being hypersensitive and overly dramatic. Women are not being attacked by any stretch, by asking why women feel the need to present a false image in order to feel secure or confident. It's that simple. The op hasn't insulted anyone. He has been forced to respond in kind.

The OP probably hasn't insulted YOU...big difference as I was insulted by the countless idiotic posts. YOU and apparently the OP think that women are presenting a false image...AGAIN WITH THE GENERALIZATIONS? YOU and the OP think that it's to get attention from males, or out of insecurity.

WRONG...the dense reasoning and idiotic statements never cease to astound me. I'm not hypersensitive or overly dramatic...but I do get riled when some of the men here think, without hesitation or embarrassment, that they know what women are thinking and feeling at all times. Snap assumptions are made to fit your belief and all of a sudden, you know more about women than ACTUAL WOMEN.

HILARIOUS. Stupid, but hilarious.

You act like makeup is something only a woman can understand. You are very dramatic, just look at how you riddle your retorts with venomous, CAPSLOCK laden nonsense.

You again highlight your foolishness by claiming I said I knew what you/women were thinking and feeling at all times. I never said such a thing, I simply stated that women wear makeup for a reason and its a psychological one. The reason is either camouflage or seduction, and you flew off the chain.

Don't be upset another point of view, which happens to be from a grounded, even-keeled woman bursts your bubble and questions your motives.

The thread has had lot of women beyond Claud showing that many women do buck the trend of using makeup to feel pretty, get job promotions and all the other excuses beyond the real ones. I applaud those who have brought some sanity to this discussion and wince at the though of your emotional tirades and the poor sap that has to endure them.

You're funny...

Well, I used caplock as a way to emphasize the word...as if I were actually speaking. Sorry you think it's venomous. That's funny, too.

You think that all women who wear makeup do it for one of two psychological reasons. You completely dismiss anyone else's opinion and continue to espouse nonsense. Flew off the chain? Perhaps you think so...I, however, do not. Expressing my opinion is all I was doing...as you're saying that you do.

Interesting you would say Claudehopper is grounded and even keeled...you don't even know this person. Nor do you know all the women of the makeup wearing world to formulate your ridiculous hypothesis.

The only sanity you feel has been brought are those agreeing with you. I believe this says more about you. You can say whatever you want, bro, but I still think that if you hang on to your tiny little thoughts and only come up with one tiny little conclusion, I think your world will remain tiny. Sad. But truthfully, I'm thankful I don't actually know you.

As a woman who has been told that I wouldnt be considered for a promotion and that it looked like I didn't take my work seriously because I didn't wear makeup and do my hair nicely, I'll kindly call BS on this.

I have also been involved with HR in companies and if a woman doesn't look 'polished' we would often pass because she looked like she didn't care about her appearance.

I wear makeup here and there and I work in a windowless office underneath an airport and the only interactions I have are with ops on the radio. Why do I wear makeup? Because sometimes I feel like it, and sometimes I have a bit of extra time before I leave for work. No other reasons.

Good for you. Just because I disagreed with your opinion, does not make me a feminazi. Honest to God, I don't even know what that is. Rights for women? Sure...what else does that include? If you didn't like my opinion, fine...but feminazi?

WOW...just wow...the people on this thread are well....just wow is all I can manage. Guess you folks can hang on to that view...I'll pass.
