Well? (It wouldn't hurt to mention your age.)

Personally, I've been wearing a pair of Ecco loafers for a couple years now. I'm 26. I don't see any reason for wearing athletic shoes unless for a specific purpose. Loafers seem like the best option. I'm wanting to maybe upgrade to a nicer pair of loafers for casual wear, but have a fear of making choices that are 'too old' for me.

I alternate between a pair of Nike sneakers and Timberland boots.

I have a pair of brown Bass Weejuns (penny loafers) I wear with Jeans or retired but still cosmetically decent looking running shoes.

I'm 19, but I'm a sucker for oxfords and desert boots.

These are very comfortable, they don't get stained or dirty easily and can be used for anything. My go to shoes.

Ecco boots, Ken Cole loafers, Ken Cole ankle boots, Merrell hiking boots, and when weather permits, flip flops. Rarely wear sneakers.

I used to wear Nike dunks and Tims like a decade ago, but now that i'm well into my 30's I've left a lot of those streetwear kicks behind. A man's gotta grow up some time.

Now it's Nike Toki's, Superga Sardegna's, SB Janoski's (yes, the Obsidian leather one), Fred Perry sneaks, Vans OTW Westin's, Horween x Vans TH Derby's, Topsiders & Grenson suede Dylan's. I would love to pick up a pair of Viberg's or Alden Indy's, but they're kind of too mountain-man for SoCal.

When looking, I spotted these and decided they're a contender for my upgrade:

Bass Shoes, Larson 2 Penny Loafer Shoes - Mens Bass - Macy's

Now they're only $99! I don't think that can be beat for a quality, classic, leather-soled shoe.

But I'm also torn between a couple pair of Allen Edmonds:

Kenwood - Penny Loafer Slip-on Mens Dress Shoes by Allen Edmonds (probably in the dark brown saddle, but maybe tan saddle)

and

Dornoch - Penny Loafer Slip-on Mens Dress Shoes by Allen Edmonds (I really like the 'grain leather' - it looks very casual, and I prefer this color, I think, but these also come in a natural/waxed color....): Dornoch - Penny Loafer Slip-on Mens Dress Shoes by Allen Edmonds

Now that I've been wearing loafers a couple years, I've definitely become acclimated and gotten an 'eye' for them and I definitely now think the Eccos, Kenneth Cole, etc. variety look cheap and cheesy.
