Personally, I've been wearing a pair of Ecco loafers for a couple years now. I'm 26. I don't see any reason for wearing athletic shoes unless for a specific purpose. Loafers seem like the best option. I'm wanting to maybe upgrade to a nicer pair of loafers for casual wear, but have a fear of making choices that are 'too old' for me.

These are very comfortable, they don't get stained or dirty easily and can be used for anything. My go to shoes.
I used to wear Nike dunks and Tims like a decade ago, but now that i'm well into my 30's I've left a lot of those streetwear kicks behind. A man's gotta grow up some time.
Now it's Nike Toki's, Superga Sardegna's, SB Janoski's (yes, the Obsidian leather one), Fred Perry sneaks, Vans OTW Westin's, Horween x Vans TH Derby's, Topsiders & Grenson suede Dylan's. I would love to pick up a pair of Viberg's or Alden Indy's, but they're kind of too mountain-man for SoCal.
Now that I've been wearing loafers a couple years, I've definitely become acclimated and gotten an 'eye' for them and I definitely now think the Eccos, Kenneth Cole, etc. variety look cheap and cheesy.
