I don't find this humorous at all. Ouch. I saw these on Nordstrom's site. For $150. When I think of Clark's, this is what I think of ... and these are STILL around.
I haven't worn Clark shoes for a very long time. I think the quality changed when it moved from being USA to foreign based...and the shoes hurt my feet. ive never been able to wear them since, even though I've seen some nice styles. Years ago, I was fitted with orthotics that I wear mostly in tennis-style shoes & some sandals. I can wear running shoes with either Super Feet or Monotrail each supports in lieu of the orthotics. My current fav's for regular shoes are SAS, Dansko & Baretraps for boots.

I'm careful not to buy the ones that are too "ordinary" looking. For summer,I bought a pair of Tulip Poster sandles, beads up and down the center of the shoe--not granny shoes! Cute. And, a pair of boots last year, black, lowish with lots of style, but you do haveto look around for an "edgier" shoe w/ Clark's. Some are too mundane for me personally. I have a pair of maroon clogs from them, cute.

As I was sitting here moderating this thread popped up on my screen. I don't normally play or moderate in this forum but since I am wearing Clark's sandals right now I thought I would pop in. I think Clark's are very comfy! Locally what is carried isn't that stylish but I can get online and find things more stylish and I will definitely check out the Indigo line so thanks for that tip!
Lucknow, I did not know they are made in China. Are all their factories in China?
Not all of them, just most of them that I see in the stores. They used to be all made in the UK, Ireland mostly. They make their European models in Italy now and they also make them in Brazil.
My gripe with Clark's is that these great shoes were always European made and now they are made in some Asian sweatshop. I try not to buy from these 3rd world countries, especially China so Clark's is out of luck with me.
So very sorry to hear that!
I won't buy from China either so soon I'll be barefoot but American.
I like them, but, the style is not stylish enough for me. I do have a pair somewhere that I wear once in a great while. I think for somebody not worrying about style they are a decent shoe and look great and are comfortable.
