This is not a large woman by any means. I think she likes dresses that are fitted on top and fan out or flow from the waist which unfortunately make her look bigger than she is in photos.
Well, I'm no fashion expert but the dress in your link looks retro 60's and something like Jackie O might have worn.

I loved her dress. The color, the cut, the fit...loved it!

Love Jason Wu

She is ok, not good looking. She is big-boned and has very wide hips, which means she should not wear any A-line, flared skirts or dresses. So far, that's what I see her wearing instead of straight skirts, which will give her hips a narrower look. I really don't know who picks her outfits but they are not doing a good job at all so it is time for her to replace them. The dress she wore for the inauguration is pretty but it is not for wide-hipped people like her. I am not fond of the red color either, on her or anyone else.

The big thing for me is her new horrendous hairstyle! Those bangs make her look horrible, she really needs to fire her stylists and hire brand new ones.

Michelle is a good looking woman and regardless of what you think, her large frame got her through law school and she is now the first lady for a second time in a row. She's doing a lot better than you are.

But her new hairdo makes her look like a country clown.. All she needed was a clown costume and she is ready to go.

I don't like the bangs or false eyelashes, hope she sheds them soon. Other than that, I can't fault her her sense of style. She doesn't wear what I'd choose for her, but that's in her favor. Her style is almost always interesting, young, fresh, and relevant. She seems to choose things she enjoys wearing, rather than pandering to either the masses or the style mavens. Good for her, I wish I'd have had that courage when I was her age!

Something like this?

As for the red dress, it wasn't bad. It was much better than the 1st inaugural gown. I wouldn't call it an important dress but it was good enough. With her taste it could have been another disaster.
